All In: Student Edition is a decent read. The basic idea is to discover what it really looks like to go “all in” for God. I think it was a great concept and perhaps the original version might have been better. The tag line of the book is “You are one decision away from a totally different life.” They do a good job dealing with this, but I felt like they were trying too hard to make it a student edition. Many times when a great point would be made, it would be ruined or lost due to a comment probably meant to get a smile out of a teen. I’m fine with writing on a teen’s level, but I felt this book lost a little of its impact because of it.
They do a good job with the idea of going “all in” for God and the illustrations used are good as well. This is not a book I would use in a group study “as is” but definitely leads to some great ideas for devotionals and other lessons. I wold recommend this book to a young person who wants an easy to read, motivational work to encourage them to do more in their spiritual lives.
