A.I.M. stands for Adventures in Ministry and their goal is to make as many resources available to ministers as possible. There is no cost for this either. The guys who submit their material donate it for the purpose of helping other ministers. Make sure and give credit where it is due if you use it, but feel free to use as much or little as you need.
There are a few apps in the app store that only are useful for certain people or people in a certain profession. Others are beneficial for pretty much everyone. The A.I.M. app is one of those everyone can use.
I remember being at a youth devo after Sunday night worship and being ready to start the devotional just to have to wait for someone to get the overhead projector set up. Not the kind that plugs in to your computer, but the kind with a really bright bulb and you put a transparency on it and it displays it on the wall in front of you, blinding the kid who sat in that spot not realizing what was happening… Even worse was when it was all set up and no one grabbed the notebook of transparencies.
This is where one of the functions of the A.I.M. app, and the one I use it for mostly, comes in handy. Instead of getting out a projector or computer, have everyone download this app and have instant access to many of the songs you plan to sing for devotionals. It even has many of the older “classics” on there as well. I have used it many times either leading the singing or just needing to see the words to a song someone else was leading.
Although the songbook is my most used feature, it is not the only feature of the app. There are many other useful things included with this app. There are many Bible class series available as well as retreat and camp ideas. There are currently five podcasts available on the A.I.M. Network that can all be accessed directly through the A.I.M. app or through iTunes.
Along with all of these features are blogs that are designed to help ministers in any work.
If you are on a computer then you can head over to www.adventuresinministry.com to see much of this material as well as many other things you can use in your ministry or personal study. If you are on an apple device use this link to download the app from the app store. Using an Android device? Use this link.
And just in case you missed it, it is totally free.
