It is Valentine's Day, or Singles Awareness Day as so many like to call it. I am thankful that I have a wonderful wife and I don't have to wonder any more if I will have "a valentine." We have been on a roller coaster ride ever since we got married. Someday, ask one of us to tell you our story. You will need a few minutes but you will hear a story of two people with a whole lot of love.
Here are some of the highlights.
- We met around March of 2007, started dating in April, I left for Florida in May, I proposed in August, we got married June 2008.
- Our families lived 20 minutes apart but we didn't meet until we were 100 miles away at Freed-Hardeman University.
- When we first got married, we lived off of $200 a week and drove over an hour one way to the congregation I was working with every Sunday and Wednesday. Gas pretty much used that money.
- We moved to Florida on one weeks notice. Exactly. I got a call on a Monday and found out classes at the school started the next Monday. We managed to get to middle Tennessee to visit our family, and pack all of the little bit we owned and moved in less than a week. I started class on time.
For the rest of the story, you will have to ask. I promise that it is a good one. We are not perfect, but we have a lot of love. I would not change this story or how it is currently playing out for anything. I love my Valentine.
As an added bonus, I put a clip of the song we walked down the aisle to after our wedding. I hope you enjoy it. :
