Don’t let the title of this book fool you. It is not about going out in the night and doing sinful things. It is a book on service and kindness to others.
Honestly, I thought the name of the book was a little overkill for me. They went for the shock factor in the title and succeeded. The meat of the book is pretty good overall. Although not the only focus, it deals greatly with an idea from Todd and Erin Stevens to reach out to the ladies who worked at a local strip club in an attempt to show them God’s love. A large portion of the rest of this book is based off of that. What can you do, where you are, with what you have. Are there people in your community who need to see the love of Christ? Then why not show it to them somehow?
It is not the best book on the market about serving others, but it is probably one of the more unique. They will not tell you to go and visit the local strip club, but they will challenge you to do things out of your comfort zone. After all, if we never reach out to anyone who is outside of our comfort zone, who would we reach with the Gospel of Christ?
If you are looking for an easy read that will give you some ideas and motivation to serve and be kind, this book might be the one for you. Be careful though, you will get funny looks if you read it in public!
